NBA Live Postponed AGAIN

It seems that EA Sports have given up on the opportunity of finally challenging rival video game developers 2K Sports. NBA Live 13 was due to give NBA 2K13 a run for its money, which it hasn’t done since their last release NBA Live 10.

EA’s executive vice president Andrew Wilson wrote on the official EA Sports blog, “Having continued to look at the game over the past few days, it’s clear that we won’t be ready in October. And rather than launch midway through the season, we’re going to sit out the full year and stay focused on making next year’s game great.”

EA Sports had plans of creating an “all-new experience that captures on the future of basketball” but it seems their plans didn’t go to plan. With fears of releasing a subpar game, EA Sports have pulled the plug last minute for the second time in recent years. In 2010, EA attempted to release the rebranded NBA Elite 11, but that game was cancelled literally a week before its release, and elements of that game were reportedly carried over to NBA Live 13.

Fortunately you still have NBA 2K13 to look forward to. If you was looking forward to NBA Live 13, here’s a look at the trailer of the game that will never be.

The Prelude To The Ryder Cup

Bizarrely enough I have been following golf as of late, the emergence of Rory McIlroy and the pre-match talk of The Ryder Cup has kept me heavily enthralled. Since 2011 Rory McIlroy, the young Golfer from Northern Ireland has maintained a mature level of consistency, formerly seen by Tiger Woods during his early playing days on numerous golf courses. His victory last year at the US Open confirmed many expert’s thoughts that the kid was destined for greatness, as his victory at the Congressional Country Club was won in record fashion, beating Jason Day by eight shots. He followed that up this year by winning the PGA Championship by another record eight shots, thus making him the youngest multiple majors champion since Seve Ballestores.

So what’s next for Rory McIlroy? The Ryder Cup of course. The competition which takes place over the weekend will see Rory take on rival Tiger Woods and the rest of USA’s finest. According to Tiger Woods himself the world number one is a marked man and Team USA are looking to target the Northern Irishman during the course of the competition at the Medinah Country Club. Whether or not Rory will falter under pressure is another story, nonetheless it will be a momentous occasion for the world of golf.

Is #TheMoneyTeam Back?

Still no word from Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on 50 Cent’s business endeavours with Manny Pacquaio but Money May is firing up the jet to party with The Money Team, even Ray J. Last year Ray J’s appeared on HBO’s ’24/7′ with Floyd Mayweather to perform his hit ‘One Wish’ which Fabolous ridiculed on Twitter.

Since Ray J’s now infamous rant on Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club, about The Money Team, he has kept a rather low profile but it seems with the gap left by 50 Cent he has been invited back into The Money Team.

If you’ve forgotten, here’s Ray J most famous interview.

New-Gen Liverpool

Many have cited to criticise the man at the helm of the Anfield faithful, however I applaud his courage and desire in his attempts to take Liverpool to the next level, albeit through his very own philosophy. Many will observe the table and see that Liverpool lie close within a relegation battle, if your mind is that premature of course. What I have done is watch Liverpool closely this season, let’s not forget this is a side that has already faced the top three clubs of last season, at home? Yes, however still three of the toughest games that they will face all season. This Liverpool unit is a team that will take a while to gel; the saying states “wine gets better with time”, maybe the same could be said for Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers has assembled a side for the future, already introducing the likes of Raheem Sterling and Suso something that I could not see Kenny Dalglish doing during his second tenure at Liverpool. His philosophies are likened to that of Sir Alex Ferguson’s when he introduced his famous ‘Fergie Fledgings’, remember how they turned out? The unanimous departure of Andy Carroll demonstrated Rodgers desire to keep his football firmly on the ground and get rid of that kick and rush football formerly seen at Anfield for many years. This enables his side to revolve around Suarez, of whom I believe is attempting to adopt the role of a false 9, similar to Wayne Rooney’s adaption of the role seen in the 2009-2010 campaign, which saw him net 34 goals during that season.

Their League Cup performance was a glance into the future and they performed admirably against an organised West Brom side, goals from Nuri Sahin were good enough to send Liverpool into the 4th round of the Capital One Cup. Even teenager Jerome Sinclair came on to become Liverpool’s youngest ever player, could you imagine previous managers such as Rafa Benitez or King Kenny doing such a thing?

Arsenal Beat Coventry 6-1 In Historic Match

Ahead of Arsenal’s third round Capital One Cup tie with League One side Coventry there was considerable talk surrounding the game about one player, Nico Yennaris. The man who was a mascot the last time the Gunners hosted Coventry 12 years ago at Highbury stadium. But it was the Gunners forwards; Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Andrey Arshavin, who stole the headlines and needed to make impacts in the League Cup tie.

The spotlight has been on Theo Walcott recently due to contract issues, the winger has stated that he is reluctant to sign an extension on his contract that is in its final year. He claims his reasoning behind this is wanting a more central role as a striker. Olivier Giroud broke his duck by scoring a composed chip over Coventry goalkeeper Joe Murphy but then failed the chance to double his tally by missing a spot kick.

The victory for Arsenal maintained their unbeaten start to the season, while there were significant returns for Arshavin, who made his first start since January, and Emmanuel Frimpong following a knee injury last season. The three attackers helped Arsenal score six goals for the second successive game at the Emirates to continue their great run of form as they eased their way past Coventry and into the fourth round of the Capital One Cup to face Reading.

Second Season Syndrome?

With a Capital One Cup third round exit at the hands of Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa, could this be Manchester City’s rockiest start to a season in recent years?

Eight games into their 2012/13 campaign and it seems that Manchester City are still having a hard time keeping a clean sheet. A shock 4-2 extra time defeat at the Etihad Stadium has Roberto Mancini scratching his head. City’s last clean sheet came early August in a pre-season friendly against Irish side Limerick FC.

It seems that Man City are having concentration lapses in defence as they are conceding goals in their games late on and struggling to keep their leads. Against Villa they gave away the lead twice then ultimately lost the game in extra time, a repeat of their bouts with Arsenal and the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid – lost in the last five minutes after they led 2-1 with an 85th minute goal by substitute Edin Dzeko.

With the Premier League champions next league clash away to Fulham and a test at home against German league winners Borrusia Dortmund, what lies ahead for Mancini’s men?
