Aaron And Arsene Do The Double For Arsenal

Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey and Arsene Wenger (pictured) won awards for September’s Barclays Player of the Month and Manager respectively. The two have been responsible for Arsenal’s strong start to the 2013/14 campaign.

This marks Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s 13th time receiving the honour, winning all four league matches in the month with Aaron Ramsey scoring fours goals.

The double award marks a change in fortunes for the Gunners and, in particular, Wenger, who came under pressure from some fans at the start of the season.

Since slipping up on opening day losing 3-1 to Aston Villa at home, in The Emirates, the Gunners have been on an 11 game unbeaten run. Along with the arrival of record signing Mesut Ozil, Arsenal’s fortunes seem to have changed.

They currently sit atop the Premier League on goal difference and have a 100% record in this season’s Champions League after two games.
