Dawn of Def Jam: Rick Rubin Returns to His NYU Dorm Room

To mark the 30th anniversary of the legendary Hip-Hop label Def Jam, Rolling Stone took the imprints co-founder Rick Rubin back to his New York University dorm room where the idea was born.

Alongside Russell Simmons, super producer Rick Rubin officially founded the record label back in 1984 from the comfort of his uni dorm, watch as Simmons, LL Cool J, Adam Horovitz, Lyor Cohen and others join Rick as he revisits the place where it all began for the very first time.
