Krept & Konan Talk Signing To Virgin EMI, Jhené Aiko Naming The Album, Promotional Beef & More: SBTV
Hooked up with Krept & Konan for a quality in-depth interview! We’ve featured them on SB many times spitting bars before but never sat down for a proper chat. We got together to discuss their journey so far, their clothing label, their upcoming new album and take a look back at their SBTV history.
Krept & Konan react to finding out they are up for 4x MOBO Awards and tell us how winning Best Newcomer in association with HTC helped them to reach success!
Krept & Konan are having a big year – from headlining their own sold out O2 Academy show (TWICE) to hitting the top 20 charts independently with their latest release Young Kingz – they are definitely UK’s most popular duo at the moment. More recently they won a MOBO award in the Best Newcomer category. They’re absolutely everywhere, so it’s only right that they finally sign a deal with a major label.
They’ve inked their major label record deal with Virgin EMI Records. Krept posted himsef and Konan signing their deal with the caption “Its official, we just signed our first major record deal with @VirginEMI /Universal!! Big up everyone thats supported us from the start. This is only the beginning!! We will always be Krept & Konan we will not change what we do and i’m glad we have a major label willing support us for what WE do.”
Congratulations to them. Hopefully we’ll see more big things from them in the near future!
